Adam Smith, Founder and Co-Owner of Golden Heart Senior Care of Charlotte, grew up in Charlotte working in nursing homes.  As the only grandchild for both sets of grandparents, Adam has always loved being around seniors and hearing about their stories and experiences.  After graduating from college,Adam Photo Adam attended law school at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.  Adam spent over a decade practicing law in large law firms, primarily in Washington, D.C.  However, he never quite felt that being an attorney was fulfilling for him.  He then had a very difficult and traumatizing experience in home care with his own family.  His grandmother was treated poorly by several agencies in Charlotte.  When Adam met Natalie and she mentioned that she had always wanted to own a home-care agency, the idea immediately resonated with him.  Adam had always enjoyed helping seniors and through a home care agency, he could do that and ensure that the seniors and their families who he looked after did not have to go through the same experience that he and his family had gone through.  Adam passionately cares about the seniors and families he helps and loves what he does.  In keeping with this commitment, Adam serves as an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Association in lobbying our state and federally elected officials to support research into searching for a cure for Alzheimer’s as well as provide training and support for families whose loved ones are afflicted with this disease.  Adam also serves as a board member with the Shepherd’s Center of Charlotte which provides education and support services for seniors.
